Reversible Cushion

Project: Reversible Cushion
Designs: Blackwork Cherry Blossoms by Maria Diaz (from Cross Stitcher Magazine) and ABC Bleu from Les Grilles de Liselotte
Materials: 14-count Charles Craft Soft Touch Aida in Dusty Rose; freebie flosses from Cross Stitcher Magazine; Venus 2611; Red Heart 87; DMC 3777; DMC 66; soft toy stuffing

The Blackwork Cherry Blossoms design was a very quick stitch and a lot of fun to do. The reverse side of the cushion, however, caused me no end of headaches. I originally chose a butterfly quartet design, but ended up frogging the stitching time and time again till I was heartily fed up, so I changed my mind about my choice of chart and went with this simple sampler instead, which I really enjoyed stitching and although I used different colours from those suggested, I think the ones I used look really effective. The soft-touch fabric was lovely to work with and I would use it again in a flash.

This will be part of my Christmas gift to my Grom, so I hope she likes it! The idea behind making the cushion reversible is that she can display whichever side she likes depending on her mood that day.

Well, my Grom seemed to love it so I'm glad I stitched it for her Xmas present, despite all the problems I had while stitching it! :)
